BIOIB has had the honor of participating in Galicia Biodays 2024, an event organized by our colleagues from Bioga. This meeting has been fundamental to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange between companies and professionals in the biotechnology sector, as well as to promote innovation.
It has been a pleasure to share the stage at the round table “Clusters as a tool to boost business competitiveness” in the Main Hall, with Ion Arocena, General Director at AseBio – Spanish Association of Biocompanies; Javier Selva, General Director at CataloniaBio & HealthTech; and Idoia Muñoz Lizan, Managing Director at Basque Health Cluster. The session was moderated by Loli Pereiro, Manager of Bioga.
It has been a great opportunity to talk about the Balearic ecosystem and our initiatives in the BIO sector in the Balearic Islands. Zara Pons Vila, PhD, Cluster Manager of BIOIB, has highlighted the strengthening of technology transfer, the implementation of innovation as a driver of progress in the health system in both the public and private sectors, and the secondary exploitation of health data thanks to the platform of the Fundació Institut d’Investigació Sanitària Illes Balears (IdISBa), our partner.
It has also been an excellent opportunity to meet face-to-face with the other members of the recently formed ACESABIO Alliance, which strengthens inter-territorial ties to create synergies.
Once again, we thank the Galician ecosystem for being a reference. The Balearic Islands look to Galicia as an example of the promotion of biotechnology and the implementation of policies for innovation in this sector. The event was a reflection of Galicia’s commitment to the biosanitary sector, biotechnology and innovation.
