ICEX Spain Export and Investment, together with the Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Bern, launches an acceleration, immersion and accompaniment program aimed at Spanish startups and companies in the health biotechnology sector with a high innovative component 🧬🚀🇨🇭.
The program is developed in collaboration with the Innovation Office of the University of Basel, in one of the most powerful biotech ecosystems in Europe, with the presence of large pharmaceutical companies, startups, investment funds and leading research centers.
🔹 Phase 1: Online Acceleration Program
Specialized executive training on:
Regulation and access to the healthcare system
Intellectual Property
Financing models
Market entry strategies and business development
Individual mentoring with international experts
Duration: March – April 2026
🔹 Phase 2: On-site immersion in Basel
Selection of up to 6 companies to participate in:
Visits to innovation hubs, research centers, and corporations.
Meetings with investors and stakeholders
Workshops and matchmaking sessions
Possible participation in the Swiss Biotech Day (under selection)
🔹 Phase 3: Follow-up
Accompaniment after the program
Definition of next steps and collaboration opportunities
☑️ Legally constituted Spanish companies, with tax domicile in Spain
☑️ Startups or biotech companies applied to health
☑️ Innovative product or service based on proprietary technology
☑️ Consulting or advisory companies are not eligible
☑️ Contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
☑️ ☑️ Availability to travel to Basel (if selected for the immersion)

The selection is carried out in several phases, evaluating, among other criteria:
Market, product and business model
Traction and achievements
Equipment and experience
Level of technological innovation
Preparation for international expansion
Team diversity
📌 Only companies with ≥ 60 points will be eligible for the immersion phase.
