CDTI CERVERA 2026 for technology centers

Description

CDTI Innovation call aimed at financing strategic R&D&I programs developed by clusters of Technology Centers and/or Technology Innovation Support Centers in strategic technologies.

The CERVERA 2026 call for Technology Centers has a budget of up to 70 million euros and is aimed at strengthening the applied research and knowledge transfer capabilities of Spanish technology centers.

🌍 Priority technology areas:

Technologies related to security and defense:

  • Advanced digital twins for defense capability enhancement
  • Quantum sensors applied to defense
  • Enabling technologies for vehicles in hypersonic flight
  • Technologies for kinetic electromagnetic systems
  • Advanced metamaterials and nanomaterials for defense and security applications

Civil technologies:

  • Circular economy
  • Intelligent transportation

❗Important: The projects must be developed by groups of between 4 and 7 centers. The coordinating entity must be a Technology Center. Obtaining the aid also implies the accreditation of the beneficiary as a Cervera Center of Excellence.

📊 Evaluation criteria

  • Strategic research and development objectives and strategic program feasibility: 40%.
  • Training activities and incorporation of human resources: 20%.
  • Internationalization: 20%.
  • Exploitation and dissemination of results: 20%.
Beneficiaries

☑️ Applicant requirements

  • Groupings of Technology Centers and/or Technological Innovation Support Centers at the national level.
  • The centers must be registered in the Registry of Technology Centers.
  • The groupings must be formed by a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 7 centers.
  • The coordinating entity of the cluster must be a Technology Center.
  • Each center may submit a maximum of 3 applications, but only one of the applications may relate to technologies of the civilian group.
  • Each center may act as coordinator for a maximum of 2 applications.
  • The members shall sign an internal agreement regulating the functioning of the grouping.

☑️ Project requirements

  • Strategic R&D&I programs in one or several priority technologies of the call.
  • The technologies included must belong to the same technological area.
  • Multi-year duration of 3 or 4 years.
  • Minimum eligible budget per project: €2,000,000.
  • Maximum eligible budget per project: €5,000,000.
  • Minimum participation per entity: 10% of the eligible budget.
  • Maximum participation per entity: 35% of the eligible budget.
  • The coordinating entity may reach up to 50% of the eligible budget.
  • Planned start of project: January 1, 2027.

  • Subsidy of up to 100% of the eligible budget of the strategic program.
  • Eligible budget per project: between €2,000,000 and €5,000,000.
  • Total budget of the call: up to 70,000,000 €.
  • Grants awarded on a competitive basis.
