EUIPO Grants 2025: Industrial Property for Innovative SMEs

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) has reopened the call for Ideas Powered for Business – SME Fund 2025, aimed at European SMEs that want to protect their intellectual property (IP) assets.

The program offers direct refunds on trademark, design, patent and plant variety fees.

Target

Facilitating SMEs’ access to industrial property protection, boosting technological innovation and improving the competitiveness of European companies in the global market.

Description

Initiative co-financed by the European Commission and managed by the EUIPO, which seeks to support the competitiveness and innovation of SMEs through the protection of their industrial property rights at national, European and international level.

Available help lines (modules B1, B2 and B3)

B1 – Trademarks and designs (EU, national and regional)

Reimbursement of 75% of the official fees: application, additional classes, examination, registration, publication and deferment.
Reimbursement of 50% of the international fees processed at WIPO (except for fees of the office of origin).

B2 – National and European patents

Reimbursement of 75% of the application, search, examination, award and publication fees.
Reimbursement of 50% of the legal costs of drafting and filing European patent applications (up to €1,000).

B3 – Community Plant Varieties

75% refund of the online application and examination fees.

Beneficiaries

SMEs established in the European Union (as defined by the European Commission).
Self-employed or startups with registered activity in the EU.
Authorized representatives acting on behalf of the SME.

Important

Grants are awarded on a first come, first served basis.
Each SME must first apply for a voucher and activate it before requesting reimbursement.
Services must be contracted after receiving confirmation of the voucher.
Compatible with other European grants, provided they do not finance the same expenses.

Open call: February 3 to December 5, 2025 (or until funds are exhausted).
Application: 100% online through the EUIPO portal.
Granting and payment: after validation and presentation of supporting documents.

Maximum financing

According to module and eligible expenditure.
Direct reimbursement to the beneficiary company’s bank account.
