Ramón y Cajal Grants (RYC) 2025

The State Research Agency (AEI) is launching the new call for Ramón y Cajal (RYC) 2025 Grants, within the State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research 2024-2027, aimed at attracting and consolidating research talent in the Spanish R&D&I system.

 

Objective:

Promote the incorporation and stabilization of research personnel with an outstanding track record (Spanish or foreign) in public and private organizations of the Spanish Science, Technology and Innovation System. It includes measures to attract talent from abroad.

Beneficiaries

Candidate requirements:

  • D. degree obtained between January 1, 2015 and December 31, 2023 (general and RyC-INIA-CCAA).
  • In the case of persons with disabilities ≥33 %: doctor’s degree between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2023.

Number of grants: 494 total

  • 477 general shift
  • 10 disability reserve
  • 7 shift RyC-INIA-CCAA(80 specific positions for attracting talent from abroad)

Beneficiary entities:

Public and private research organizations, universities, technology centers, accredited health institutes and non-profit organizations with R&D&I activities.

Dates and deadlines

Application deadline: from November 19 to December 11, 2025 (until 2:00 p.m., Spanish mainland time)

Budget

Financing: Grant – competitive bidding system.

Total budget: 132,346,140 €.
