INNOGLOBAL CDTI 2026

Description

The INNOGLOBAL 2026 call for proposals provides funding for international research and development (R&D) projects carried out by Spanish companies in collaboration with foreign partners, within the framework of international technology cooperation programs and Big Science initiatives.

Its goal is to promote the internationalization of Spanish corporate R&D by encouraging participation in international consortia and access to global markets and innovation ecosystems.

Assessment criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on:

  • International reach of the project and the consortium.
  • Technological capabilities of the participating company.
  • Level of innovation and technological excellence.
  • Profit and Loss Statement.
  • Socioeconomic and environmental impact.
Beneficiaries

They can apply for these grants:

  • Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
  • Large companies.
  • Mid-cap companies with fewer than 499 employees.

Entities must be incorporated in Spain, have their own legal personality, and carry out the subsidized activity within Spain.

Projects must:

  • Have an international focus and be developed in collaboration with foreign partners.
  • Be part of international technology cooperation programs or Big Science initiatives.
  • Have a minimum eligible budget of 175,000 euros.
  • Effective January 1, 2027.
  • Ending on December 31, 2028, or June 30, 2029.

Eligible programs include:

  • Eureka (Clusters and Network Projects).
  • Iberoeka.
  • FIRST.
  • Bilateral programs sponsored by CDTI.
  • Unilateral international projects.
  • Major international scientific facilities (CERN, ITER, ESO, SKAO, among others).
Dates and deadlines

June 17 to July 16, 2026 (until 12:00 p.m. CET).

Budget

The aid is provided in the form of a grant with the following maximum intensities:

  • Up to 80% for small businesses.
  • Up to 75% for medium-sized businesses.
  • Up to 65% for large companies.

The grant awarded may not be less than 30% of the eligible budget

The call for proposals allocates specific ERDF funding to each autonomous community. In the case of the Balearic Islands, the available funding amounts to 1 million euros

Eligible expenses

Among other things, the following may be funded:

  • Personnel costs.
  • Equipment and instruments.
  • Contract research and acquisition of technical expertise.
  • Patents and licenses.
  • Project-related operating expenses.
  • Audits (up to €1,500 per beneficiary per year).
  • International coordination trips (up to €10,000 per beneficiary).
  • Indirect costs calculated as 15% of personnel costs.
