The Accelera Lab UIB-PYME Program is aimed at SMEs in the Balearic Islands that wish to initiate or develop R&D&I projects aimed at the design of new products, services or production processes, as well as the substantial improvement of existing ones.
The objective of the program is to promote the transfer of knowledge from the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) to the business sector, offering specialized scientific services that strengthen the innovative capacity and competitiveness of SMEs based in the Balearic Islands.
The services are performed by UIB research staff and may include activities of:
Expert scientific consulting.
Aimed at innovative projects oriented to:
Obtaining new products or production processes
Substantial improvement of existing products or processes
This modality is particularly suitable for initial phases, in which expert scientific advice is mainly required prior to the execution of an R&D&I project.
Research and development
Oriented to projects that involve:
The discovery of new knowledge
Application of research results or existing scientific knowledge
The design of new applications
Implementation of new materials, products or services
Substantial technological improvement of existing solutions
Includes activities of:
Technological and industrial research
Experimental development
🎯 TRL objective: maturity of projects from TRL 2 to TRL 3-5.
Testing and validation of products or services
Aimed at business projects that need:
Testing of new products or services
Validate solutions prior to market launch
The projects use UIB facilities and scientific equipment to carry out the necessary tests.
🎯 TRL target: projects in more advanced stages (TRL 5-6).
☑️ Applicant requirements
Submission of applications: until March 26, 2026 or until credit is exhausted (185,000 €).
🗓️ Completion of activities
In all modalities, the services must be completed no later than November 30, 2026.
💰 Project co-financing.
In any of the three modalities, the company must contribute 20% of the total budget for the service.
The remaining 80% corresponds to the support provided through the Accelera Lab UIB-PYME program.
