Aquicultura Balear is a Culmarex Group company dedicated to the breeding and marketing of the tastiest and healthiest white fish in the Mediterranean diet: sea bream (Sparus aurata) and sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax). The company was founded 25 years ago in Águilas (Murcia) by entrepreneurs who found in Mallorca the ideal water quality for the breeding of these species. At its plant in Palma, they produce more than half of the sea bream and sea bass fry that mature in Spain.

Its strength is the high technical level of this facility, especially in the field of genetic program development and in the field of health development.

BIOTECHNOLOGY LABORATORY: cell, viral and bacterial cultures, protein extraction for the identification of microorganisms by mass spectrometry, extraction of genetic material (DNA/RNA), qPCR(quantitative polymerase chain reaction), strain and storage of cryopreserved samples and, finally, application of high-tech instruments for the collection of biochemical parameters in fish, larvae, eggs, sediment and water.
